All the above sectors in Bwindi impenetrable forest National park enable the activity of gorilla trekking daily for all travelers. Bear in mind that the age limit for gorilla trekking in Uganda is 15 years. Bwindi impenetrable forest National Park has over 22 habituated gorilla families that are available for trekking. This means that a total of 176 gorilla permits are available for sale daily. The huge number of Mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable forest National Park makes it to habit half of the world’s total population of Mountain gorillas.
Besides Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, mountain gorillas in Uganda can also be found in Mgahinga National Park who harbors the well re-known Nyakagezi Family and Hirya Family that crossed over from Rwanda’s volcanoes National Park. These two families of gorillas accommodate only 16 gorilla permits per day since a ground of gorillas is allocated to a group of 8 persons.
You can get to Bwindi or Mgahinga National park through Entebbe international airports or Kigali international airport. It takes about 8 to 9 hours to drive from Entebbe to Bwindi or Mgahinga and only 3 to 4 hours from Kigali international airport to the mentioned parks.
