Spanning over 260 sq. km, the national park is covered with vegetation mainly composed of savannah and is the smallest savannah park in the country. How to get to Lake Mburo national park

Lake Mburo national park is located so close to Kampala and Entebbe which are starting points of most safaris. To get to Lake Mburo national park from Kampala/Entebbe using road transport you go through Mpigi, Masaka, and then Lyantonde where you branch off to the park using Sanga or Nshara gate.
By air transport, tourists do use Mbarara airstrip because it’s the closest to the park. To fly to Lake Mburo national park, you need advance booking of the flight with any of the airline companies in the country which could be Aerolink Uganda or Bar Aviation Uganda. On the day of the safari, you will fly from Entebbe international airport or Kajjansi airstrip to Mbarara airstrip which takes 1 hour and a few minutes. From Mbarara to Lake Mburo national park takes a few hours.
