Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP” in the Virunga mountain ranges is the largest primeval, oldest and most biologically diverse rain forest located in south-western Uganda which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” is housing roughly half of the world’s remaining population of mountain gorillas including the habituated groups for tourism and study purposes. Lake Bunyonyi is found in the South Western part of the country adjacent to the Uganda Rwandan border. It is Uganda’s deepest lake with a depth of between 44m and 900m, a width of 7km and 25km long. Day 1: Kampala City/ Entebbe International Airport OR Kigali City / Kigali Airport – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP
Your English driver guide will meet you at your hotel OR Airport for briefing about your tour and later drive to start your Gorilla tracking Bwindi with an en-route stop to have lunch and refreshments and then continue with your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park a home to half of world’s remaining population of mountain Gorillas for checking in at reserved lodge for relaxation and if time allows, you can go for a simple community walk to meet the indigenous people of the park. The drive will take you through different features including tropical rain forests, savannah fields and the terraced hills of Kigezi famously known as the Switzerland of East Africa. Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable forest NP – Morning gorilla tracking – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up early in the morning for your full breakfast and depart for the morning pre tracking briefing at the park information center. Later go to start your long time awaited for adventure“Gorilla tracking Bwindi” the time taken while trekking is not known but it is expected to be between 2-8 hours depending on the movements of the Gorilla family that you are allocated to. During the gorilla tracking expect to discover a number of other primates such as Chimpanzees, black and white colombus monkey, vervet monkey, and many others.
On encounter, spend an hour of exhilarating moments with these gentle giants after return to the information center to enjoy your packed lunch and refreshments and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi where over 200 bird species have been recorded. “Bunyonyi” actually means “the place of many little birds” Lake Bunyonyi is one of the few African lakes completely safe for swimming and canoeing. This Lake is surrounded by steep mountains and dotted with small Islands.
You will spend your evening on the Lake Bunyonyi while canoeing, bird watching and relaxing. Dinner and an overnight
