Equipment needed for Mount Elgon hiking: Elgon is one of the mountains in Uganda that hikers can climb if they are looking at doing a hiking safari. The mountain is located in Mount Elgon national park between the borders of Uganda and Kenya. Mount Elgon is 4321 meters tall with the highest peak being Wagagai on the Ugandan side. The mountain happens to be the second tallest in Uganda after Mount Rwenzori.
Climbing Mountain Elgon is the main activity and we have decided to put together a comprehensive packing list to help you prepare and have a successful hiking exercise to the summit of the eighth tallest mountain in Africa. Hikers have a lot of time between the time of booking the safari and the time of travel therefore we do not expect last-minute travelers packing their hiking gear.
