Park entrance for Semuliki national park: Semuliki national park is one of Uganda’s national parks in western Uganda found in Bundibugyo district. The national park is about 5 to 6 hours drive from Entebbe/Kampala the major starting points of safaris to Semuliki when one uses road transport. Semuliki national park is near Mount Rwenzori national park, Kibale forest national park, and Lake Albert.
Semuliki national park was gazetted in 1993 to protect different wildlife and vegetation that has of today attracted so many tourists in the park. The hot springs, 435 birds, 53 mammals, 448 butterflies, and 9 primates have attracted lots of tourists from different areas of the world to the park. So many activities are carried out in the park but for anyone to access the protected area they must pay a certain fee.
Uganda Wildlife Authority is the government agency that manages and controls all activities within Semuliki national park. It’s the same body that introduced park entrance fees which change over a given period of time. The fees paid are used to pay workers who have played a big role in protecting the park and its attractions. Part of the money paid also goes to the communities around the park who use it to improve their projects and earn a living.

Any person who wants to access Semuliki national park must pay a fee at the park entrance or directly to Uganda Wildlife Authority. This fee lasts 24 hours which starts counting from the time one enters the park and tourists must know that when 24 hours are done tourists must pay another fee.
Adults entering Semuliki national park pay $35 for foreign non-residents, $25 for foreign residents, and UGX150,000 citizens of East African member states.
Children entering Semuliki national park pay $5 for foreign non-residents and foreign residents while children who are citizens of East African member states pay UGX2500.
Ugandan pupils and students or groups pay UGX1500 to access Semuliki national park.
Annual park entrance passes to Semuliki national park
Annual park entrance fees to Semuliki national park are designed for tourists who are interested in paying individual park entrance fees for a whole year. This means that they can access the park any time they wish to using the same fee. Annual entry fees to Semuliki national park is for foreign residents and citizens of East African member states. Foreign residents must have a work permit that is valid for a year to qualify for the annual pass.
The annual park entrance pass to the park is paid separately from vehicle entrance fees and tourists must know that.
For individuals, it’s $350 for foreign residents and UGX350,000 for citizens of East African member states.
Couples it’s $600 for foreign residents and UGX500,000 for citizens of East African member states.
A family with a maximum of 4 children is $800 for foreign residents and UGX600,000 for citizens of East African member states.
Annual cooperate pass (10 pax) is $1500 for foreign residents and UGX2,500,000 for citizens of East African member states.

Mode of payment
Park entrance fee to Semuliki national park is paid in different ways. There are tourists or safari companies that pay directly to Uganda Wildlife Authority accounts. There are tourists or safari companies who also pay entrance fees to Semuliki at the entrance of the park using cashless methods such as Visa Cards, Master Cards, and Mobile money.

Foreign residents are those tourists not from East Africa but working in East Africa and have a working permit that is valid for a year.
Members of East African communities are those born in countries Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, and DR Congo.
Children rates are for those aged between 5 to 15 years. Children below 5 years are exempt.
Student fees. These are applicable to persons sponsored by a recognized learning institution, a valid student ID, and a pre-arranged school-organized trip.
