You need to know that hiking is challenging

Well, the dry season is the best time to climb mountain Rwenzori and it does happen from June to September and December to February. During this period, lots of hikers climb mountain Rwenzori because that is when the ground is dry with passable hiking trails, vegetation is short with clear views of attractions on the mountain and the roads leading to the mountain are in good condition.

Hikers going for Rwenzori hiking can still go during the rainy season which happens from March to May and October to November. The activity is done throughout the year however those that hike in the rainy season should know that the hiking trails are muddy and slippery, the vegetation is tall with unclear views of attractions and the clouds are very dark most of the days giving unclear views of the areas nearby.

Be prepared for huts/tents

There are no constructed lodges on the slopes of mountain Rwenzori and therefore tourists should be aware. The central circuit trail has huts while Kilembe and Bukurungu trails have got tents.

You will feel uneasy at higher levels of the mountain
