The gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi starts in the morning in all the sectors of the park. Travelers must wake up in the morning and have breakfast and thereafter meet their drivers to transfer them to the sector offices. At the sector offices are different trekkers and wardens teach the rules and regulations of the trekking activity. Groups not exceeding 8 are made and armed ranger guides lead the trekkers through the different trekking trails until they meet the mountain gorillas.
The trekking activity can take 2-7 hours of meeting different park animals such as elephants, duikers, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, jackals, bush pigs, bats, otters, birds, and different plant species.
