Day 1: Arrive to Kigali city and transfer to the hotel
This is the day you arrive in to this beautiful country, you are welcomed in by our professional driver guide at the airport and then you are driven to the hotel to rest as you wait for the fascinating awaiting Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip adventures of this epic wonderful beautiful country (Rwanda is nicknamed as land of thousand hills) in the following days. Day 2: Kigali history and cultural tour
Your Kigali City Tour starts as a historic journey with a guided Rwanda Cultural Trip through the residential areas and business areas of Kigali, visit some of the historic sites established in memory of the 1994 brutal Tutsi Genocide, have a guided tour to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial, as also find out more about the various neighborhoods as well as local attractions of the city. Come and personally experience this beautiful yet very clean country. You will have lunch, dinner and overnight at Great Seasons Hotel Kigali
Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park via Nyanza palace and Butare Museum
After breakfast, you will depart for Butare on your Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip package, which hosts the National Museum, several academic and research institutions. On enroute to Butare, a visit to Nyanza (present day Nyabisindu), the former Mwami’s (King’s) palace and the seat of the feudal monarchy is appropriate. Visit the National Museum is a well set-up, if not the finest ethnographic museum of East Africa. Experience a spectacular performance of the national ballet with the Intore-dancers. The performance is regarded by many as one of the highlights of a safari. You will have an overnight at Gisakura Guest House
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest
On your Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip, go for Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk through some beautiful foliage and animal habitats that dwell in the upper levels of the forest canopy in Nyungwe forest and later take a community visit tour to the Gisakura Tea Estate. Day 5: Transfer to Musanze for the famous Ibyiwacu cultural experience-Visit homes and local markets
Have breakfast and then enjoy the beautiful services and scenery at your lodge, you will drive northeast to the town of Musanze close to the Virunga Volcano range to explore Rwanda’s Musanze caves on your Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip which date back 65 million years. In the evening, you will embark on the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village which gives you a rare chance to meet local people, in their environment, with a taste of the culture and traditions. Day 6: Full day community tour in Ruhengeri and Musanze-Visit gardens, local breweries, cultural performances, Markets and schools etc.
After having breakfast during your Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip, go out to see the king’s house replica and stories attached to this cultural treasure. Listen to stories about traditional medicine from a traditional healer, experience Rwanda’s local foods, attend a local banana brewery process and have a taste on local banana beer, explore the Batwa pottery making experience etc. You will have a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Gorilla Solution Lodge
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park and evening Batwa pygmy Community experience.
This day starts with your driver guide picking you up from your hotel and embarking on an exciting Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip to Bwindi National park. Upon arrival in Bwindi, you will go for the Batwa community encounter which takes you to meet the original indigenous people who lived in this conservation area. Drive to the lodge for relaxation as you wait for the next day’s adventure with dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Haven Lodge
Day 8: Bakiga tribe community tour and “Agartha taste of Uganda” experience
After having breakfast, check out and head for a Uganda Cultural Trip to explore the Bakiga community which involves meeting the local people who inhabit the Kigezi highlands, visit farm lands on terraced hills and Kraals and later Visit the “Agartha’s taste of Uganda” tour. As you sit under her thatched hut, Agartha shares stories of her life as a Bakiga woman whilst demonstrating in person the process of sorting, pounding, willowing and grinding millet. You will retire for the day for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Enjojo Lodge
Day 9: Tour to Nshenyi cultural Village in Kitwe and learn more about the Ankole Kingdom-Part of Bantu group
After breakfast, transfer to Nshenyi cultural village on your Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip, a gateway into the Ankole culture. Nested in the rolling hills of the Ankole Kingdom, enjoy your stay at the charming and spacious farm, decorated to the local customs. Find out how matooke is prepared, visit a traditional Bahima villages, make ghee, traditional dances and songs enchant you under the sky, while the campfire warms the cool evening. Day 10: Transfer to Fort Portal to learn about the history and culture of Batoro tribe
Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” and is famous for the many tea plantations. You will arrive around lunch time. Drive to the famous Maberega Nyinamwiru caves in Nyakasura-Fort Portal. It is nestled between several trees and beautiful water falls on some ones farm land which he has kept and preserved for tourism. Drive to Fort portal for dinner and overnight at Rweteera Safari Park
Day 11: Crater Lakes Exploration and tour of the Batoro culture and customs
After breakfast head out on your Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip for an exploration of the crater lakes. The crater lakes of Uganda are located near Fort Portal, and are a great hiking option. Typical hikes take you through local villages and tea plantations, to the base of several of these incredibly serene and beautiful lakes. Full board accommodation will be at Rweteera Safari Park
Day 12: With stopovers at local markets and villages, Transfer to Murchison falls National Park and tour top of the falls
After breakfast you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park involving calculated stopovers at roadside local markets and homes plus stopover at a local restaurant for lunch. Head straight to tour the Top and bottom of majestic falls, where the Nile crashes through a 7 metres gorge and then falls 45 metres. You will have dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge
Day 13: Game drive and boat cruise in Murchison falls National Park
Head for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau to see the Cape buffaloes, Elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest and waterbucks etc. In the afternoon, have a Boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls. The boat stops just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron” for pictures to be taken of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge
Day 14: Rhino tracking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary- Visit Nakasero Market
After an early morning breakfast, depart with great memories of Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Have lunch be transferred to Kampala to visit Nakasero market. Dinner and overnight at Maries Royale Hotel
Day 15: Kampala cultural and historical tour-Last farewell dinner party!
After having breakfast, check out for a tour of Kampala city’s cultural, political and religious history through Kabaka’s Palace at Bulange Mengo and Former Amin torture chambers, Namugongo Martyr’s Shrine, Uganda Museum, Gaddafi Mosque and Craft village. In the evening you will have a farewell dinner with our staffs and guide to celebrate your stay! You will have dinner and overnight at Maries Royale Hotel
Day 16: Departure day through Entebbe international airport
After having breakfast drive to the airport to end your Uganda Rwanda Cultural Trip with alot of memories as you say fare well to the pearl of Africa!
